Role Overview

As Operations Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end execution of CanPay’s operational strategy. From managing daily processes and merchant relations to supporting user experience and compliance, you’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth operations, financial oversight, and strategic implementation of our BNPL platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Merchant & Customer Onboarding: Manage seamless onboarding processes; ensure adherence to KYC/AML compliance.
  • Operations Oversight: Supervise daily operations, payment flows, dispute resolution, and customer support.
  • Partnership Management: Maintain and grow relationships with retail, e-commerce, holiday & travel, and other merchant partners.
  • Financial Monitoring: Track repayments, ensure cash flow accuracy, and assist with financial reporting.
  • Marketing Collaboration: Work with the marketing team to support growth, user acquisition, and product visibility.
  • Compliance & Risk Management: Oversee credit risk procedures, ensure policy adherence, and manage credit approvals and collections.
  • Team Management: Lead operations staff, assign tasks, provide mentorship, and report progress to executive leadership.

Competencies Required

  • BNPL/Fintech Familiarity: Understanding of credit risk, consumer lending, or digital payments.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to assess operations performance, payment trends, and user behaviors.
  • Problem Solving: Quick and effective resolution of customer and merchant issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintain accuracy in financial, compliance, and operational workflows.
  • Communication Skills: Professional, concise communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Ability to lead teams, inspire accountability, and drive results under minimal supervision.
  • Must have knowledge in and know how to use Microsoft Word and Excel, as well as fluency in PowerPoint presentations.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfort with digital platforms, CRMs, and fintech tools.

Education & Language Requirements

  • Minimum Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Preferred: Master’s degree or certification in Fintech, Compliance, or Project Management.
  • Language: Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
