INSTALMENT AGREEMENT

1. Eligibility

To enter into an instalment agreement with CanPay, you must:

  • Be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering a binding contract.
  • Possess a valid government-issued ID.
  • Maintain an active Ghanaian mobile number and email address.
  • Successfully pass our internal risk and affordability assessment.

2. Agreement Overview

CanPay allows you to purchase goods or services from approved merchants and pay over time in interest-free weekly or low bi-weekly and monthly instalments. The terms of each purchase, including payment amount, frequency, duration, and applicable interest will be displayed at the point of checkout and confirmed in your instalment schedule.

3. Payment Terms

  • You agree to repay the total amount due in the number of instalments specified at the time of purchase.
  • CanPay does not auto-debit your account, so please set reminders to pay on time.
  • Early payments are allowed at no extra cost.
  • Missed or late payments may result in additional fees as outlined in Section 5.

4. Interest and Fees

  • Instalment plans may be interest-free or low-interest, depending on the payment option you choose.
  • You will be informed of any interest or service fees prior to confirming the agreement.
  • No hidden fees. All applicable charges are disclosed upfront.

5. Late or Missed Payments

  • A late fee may be charged if an instalment is not received on the due date
  • Multiple missed payments may lead to:
    • Suspension of your CanPay account
    • Reporting to credit bureaus or recovery agencies
    • Legal recovery action (where applicable)

6. Cancellation and Refunds

  • Cancellations and refunds are governed by the merchant’s return policy.
  • If a refund is issued by the merchant, your CanPay account will be credited accordingly, and future instalments adjusted or cancelled.

7. Account Management

You can view your payment schedule, history, and outstanding balance at any time by logging into your CanPay dashboard via our WebApp or mobile platform.

8. Amendments

We may update this Agreement from time to time. Changes will be posted on our website and take effect immediately upon publication. Your continued use of the CanPay instalment service constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

9. Governing Law

This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. Any disputes arising shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Ghanaian courts.
